Baked Chocolate Mousse

Tried this recipe by Chef James Martin for the first time. Never mind all the hand-drawn hearts around his picture. Couldn't help it...

Right out of the oven. The centre of the cake has not sunk yet. Smells awesome.

The centre has sunk quite a bit.

Served with the candied fennel (from the same recipe) and a dollop of whipped cream.

I've eaten 55 items out of 100... Not bad, eh?

I guess growing up in Japan made it a little easier to "bold" quite a few items here.

I'm not a big fan of alcoholic beverages, spicy food, or so-called exotic delicacies, but I'm definitely willing to try almost everything and anything at least once.

Surprising how many things I've never tried or I had never even heard of. Luckily, living in a multi-cultural city gives me an easy access to a whole variety of food from all over the world. The exciting saga continues...

Strawberry Mousse & Chocolate Cake

Baked for my friend MA and her lovely children. Found the strawberry mousse recipe on JELL-O website. Pureed fresh strawberries made a huge difference in taste!

Parchment paper around the cake got wrinkled, hence those vertical grooves.

Hidden inside is the chocolate chiffon cake. Both the cake part and the mousse part turned out quite nice and soft.

Yogourt Popsicle

Froze one 100g container of Astro BioBest yogourt in a popsicle mold.

Honey n Spice Cake

Lazy frosting job... Oh well...

Nice and moist but quite dense in texture. Packed with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and ginger. Almost smells/tastes like chai tea.

Sliced banana, "properly" whipped cream and manuka honey inside.

Homemade Butter

Over-whipped cream turned into nice, fresh unsalted butter. It's sweetened, in fact. Yum!

Mocha Chiffon Cake

Baked this for my friend GP's birthday. Put a shot of espresso instead of H2O in the recipe, hence 'Mocha' in the name, but didn't taste it at all :( In a glass is a rum-flavoured peach sauce.

Glad that the cake turned out quite well - nice, light & fluffy.
