Lemon Layer Cake


My friend UW asked me to bake a birthday cake for her husband. Got me thrilled yet a little bit nervous, to be honest...



Start with lemon-y genoise sponge...



Next layered with lemon curd and frosted with lemon-y buttercream...



Raspberries and spearmint leaves add some nice colours to the cake.



Can't believe how hard it is just to pipe straight lines... Definitely need steady hands!

Coconut Macaroons


Used leftover egg whites from making lemon curd. They look like pre-scooped vanilla ice cream...



Would you call this "lightly golden"? Dunno. Taste good, though!

Chocolate Genoise Sponge


Baked this for my friend RV's birthday. Walnut pieces were waaaaay too huge for the size of the cake, and chocolate marbling on top didn't turn out very well... A lesson learned.
